My dad sent out an email this week to some family members trying to track down my grandmother's sugar cookie recipe. After a little back and forth, he was able to get it and share it with all of us. Sugar cookies are simple and delicious but dangerous to keep around the house. You can never stop at one so I recommend doubling the batch. Grandmother Shaw's Sugar Cookies
1 CUP SHORTENING
2 CUPS SUGAR
2 EGSS
3 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
4 TSP BAKING POWDER
1 TSP SALT
1 TSP VANILLA
1 TABLESPOON MILK
CREAM SUGAR AND SHORTENING. ADD EGGS, ONE AT A TIME. BEAT AFTER EACH ADDITION.
CHILL DOUGH FOR 1 HOUR.
ROLL OUT DOUGH, CUT INTO ROUNDS.
BAKE AT 350 FOR 8 MINUTES OR UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWNED.
